Senior Quantum Algorithm Engineer (m/f/d) as Customer-Focused MVP Specialist

Your role

We seek a dynamic professional to drive customer engagement and MVP (minimum viable products) development at Kipu Quantum. You'll identify high impact use cases, bridge business needs with quantum computing solutions, and support technical development. This fast-paced role involves refining MVPs based on client feedback, managing multiple projects, and collaborating with sales to transition MVPs into recurring services.

Your responsibilities

• Identify high-impact use cases to prioritize MVP development in close collaboration with our sales and development team
• Design and iterate MVPs while maintaining our high software quality standards
• Engage with clients to gather feedback, refine solutions, and integrate them into workflows
• Balance technical feasibility with business viability to drive successful product outcomes
• Develop problem encoding and conduct research to determine how to divide problem-solving tasks between classical and quantum computing
• Create hybrid workflows integrating both quantum and classical computing to optimize problem-solving strategies
• Ensure technical feasibility of problem encoding aligned with business goals

Your profile

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Quantum Computing, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field or comparable qualifications
• Proficiency in Python, Agile development, Git, CI/CD, and cloud-based services
• Expertise in quantum computing, hybrid workflows, and optimization research
• Client-focused mindset with experience in requirement gathering, stakeholder management, and cross-market collaboration
• Strong research background and deep understanding of the Quantum Computing ecosystem
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present MVPs and drive adoption
• True startup mindset; hands-on, driven, resilient. As we are a young venture, we all must wear different hats and contribute to different aspects of the business
• Excellent command of English is necessary and German is a big plus

About us

Kipu Quantum is a German startup focused on quantum computing, with offices in Karlsruhe and Berlin. We specialize in developing quantum algorithms tailored for specific applications and hardware. Our solutions help various industries, including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, logistics, and finance, to tackle complex problems using existing quantum hardware. We aim to make practical quantum computing accessible by significantly reducing the time needed to achieve quantum advantage for real-world applications.
