Network Reliability Engineer (f/m/d) - Defense Products

Our team of highly motivated experts against cyber security attacks are looking for more teammates. As a network reliability engineer you will plan and operate together with site reliability engineers and system administrators our defense platforms which protect our hosting products and infrastructure. Besides the classical DDoS Mitigation, we are also responsible for modern web application firewalls, zero trust strategies or content delivery networks (cdn). Tasks

• Development and adaptation of logic for defending against DDoS attacks, especially at the network level.
• Optimization of pipelines for automatic detection and mitigation of attack patterns, as well as reporting using flow data.
• Supporting the team by providing automated operational processes and rollouts of network components for on-call availability.
• Providing interfaces for other teams for integration into the hosting products.
• Administration and troubleshooting of the router infrastructure of our defense products.
• Supporting set goals through efficient operational architecture, active lifecycle management, and streamlined processes in an agile DevOps environment.

Qualifications

You have completed a degree in computer science or a comparable professional education. Additionally, you have a strong interest in security topics, excellent networking knowledge and have the following qualifications:

• Several years of experience in operating network components and JUNOS as a Network Operating System.
• Excellent experience with the BGP routing protocol and BGP Flowspec.
• Experience with Linux-based network filtering capabilities such as Netfilter, nftables, eBPF, or XDP.
• Operation and development of highly available software artifacts in programming or scripting languages: C, Go, Python, Rust, Bash.
• Practical knowledge and use of open-source routing services such as Frrouting and GoBGP are advantageous.
• Infrastructure as Code with Ansible and automation are essential parts of your own work practices.
• Strong analytical skills to assess DDoS attacks, implement countermeasures, and continuously enhance our defense platforms.
• You are, like us, a fan of open source, particularly Linux.
• You can communicate fluently in English with your international team. German is a plus.
