Anja Bößert our Finance Manager, is looking to strengthen the team with a talented Controller (m/f/d). This is a full-time maternity leave cover based in Karlsruhe for a initial fixed-term of 18–24 months, with the likely potential for extension.

What you’ll do at Nexus

• Controlling – Lead key controlling activities across the DACH and Sweden region, e.g. budget and forecast processes, with scope to support broader group-level initiatives over time. Ensure compliance with internal policies and financial guidelines.
• Reporting & Analysis – Deliver timely and accurate reports for business and financial controlling, including P&L statements, variance gap analysis, revenue reporting, statistics, sales and product analysis, and more, and present clear financial insights to management.
• Data Modelling & Excel Mastery – Create and maintain robust financial models using advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUP, etc.). Apply a solution-oriented mindset to data challenges.
• Tool Ownership & Process Improvement – Use tools such as MS Dynamics and DATEV to maintain high-quality financial reporting. Contribute to process enhancements and automation efforts using Power BI and other platforms.
• Business Partnering – Work as a trusted finance partner to operational teams, turning financial data into actionable strategies. Align closely with stakeholders in France, Sweden, and Germany.
• Ad-Hoc Projects – Support strategic finance initiatives and provide sharp ad-hoc analysis as needed. Connect the dots between cost structures, performance, and business goals.

About you

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or vocational training (e.g. Ausbildung) in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Experience: 3-4 years of relevant experience in controlling, management accounting, or FP&A
• Tools:
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, analytical functions)
• Proficiency with using MS Dynamics; DATEV is a strong plus
• Power BI knowledge (advantageous)
• Languages: Fluent German and very good to fluent English; French is a plus, not a must
• Mindset: Proactive and independent, with a sharp analytical eye and a collaborative spirit. Comfortable challenging the status quo and contributing to international teamwork
