The role
We’re seeking a visionary Principal Software Engineer (all genders) to architect and drive the development of our flagship cloud-native AI product. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the product’s technical direction, influencing engineering teams, and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization including steering groups within our parent company.
This is a functional leadership role for someone who thrives on ownership, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration that reports to the Head of Engineering.
Your tasks
Architectural Leadership: Design and evolve the software architecture of our cloud-native web platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
Technical Strategy : Identify and integrate emerging technologies and industry trends into our product roadmap.
Team Influence : Lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering a culture of excellence, autonomy, and continuous learning.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate customer needs into technical solutions.
Customer Engagement: Interface with customers to understand their requirements and feedback, translating insights into actionable engineering tasks.
Strategic Steering: Represent the engineering team in steering groups with our parent company, contributing to high-level product and technology decisions.
Innovation Driver: Proactively identify opportunities for innovation and improvement across the product lifecycle.
Industry thought Leadership: Understand technical trends in AD/ADAS and AI and analyze what this means for our product.
What will you need to be successful?
Proven experience in software architecture and technical leadership of larger engineering teams.
Deep expertise in cloud-native technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, microservices, CI/CD, cloud platforms).
Strong background in frontend and backend web development (e.g., React, Angular, Node.js, Java, Python).
Solid understanding of the automotive domain, especially autonomous driving, robotics and computer vision.
Knowledge around autonomous driving scenarios, simulations and safety is a plus.
