Overview

A global organisation is seeking an experienced Fixed Assets Accountant to join its finance team in Karlsruhe. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of fixed asset accounting within a fast-paced, capital-intensive environment, supporting significant ongoing investment programmes valued between €300 million and €1 billion.
Working closely with finance and operational stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate accounting, strong financial controls, and SOX-compliant asset management processes.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage the full lifecycle of fixed assets, including capitalisation, transfers, disposals and depreciation.
* Maintain accurate accounting for Property, Plant & Equipment (PPE).
* Support large-scale CAPEX projects and ensure timely asset capitalisation.
* Perform month-end and year-end fixed asset close activities.
* Reconcile fixed asset accounts and investigate discrepancies.
* Ensure compliance with SOX controls, accounting policies and internal procedures.
* Partner with project teams and finance colleagues to support ongoing investment programmes.
* Assist with internal and external audits relating to fixed assets.
* Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
Key Requirements
* Previous experience in Fixed Asset Accounting / Anlagenbuchhaltung.
* Strong knowledge of Property, Plant & Equipment (PPE) accounting.
* Experience supporting capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects.
* Good understanding of SOX compliance and internal controls.
* Experience working within an international or manufacturing environment is advantageous.
* ERP experience such as SAP is highly desirable.
* Fluent German and good English communication skills.
